A new car under the LIFE Oroklini project - August '12
A brand new 4x4 Skoda Yeti car was delivered to BirdLife Cyprus last month thanks to the LIFE project ‘Restoration and Management of Oroklini Lake’. BirdLife Cyprus has a key coordinating role in the OROKLINI LIFE project and the car will be primarily used to cover the needs of the project, such as site visits and meetings. This model has the lowest CO2 emissions compared to other cars of the same category (4X4 SUV), which played a key role in its purchase. The car was co-funded by the LIFE financial instrument of the European Union and Mr A P Leventis, and after the end of the project in 2014 it will be used for other BirdLife Cyprus fieldwork purposes. One more car will be purchased as part of the LIFE Oroklini project for the leader beneficiary of the project, the Game and Fauna Service.
